Maria Lukianovna Lukashevich (Sosunova), born in 1930.

I was born in the village of Khomenichi, Mogilev region. We lived there before the war. Jews did not use to live in our village before the war.

My cousin’s wife was Jewish. She originated from Gorky and used to teach German at school.

When the war began, the cousin was drafted to the army and Hania came to stay at our house, as well as our relatives’ house. She was lucky to run away right from the execution. She remained to live with us.

My father’s friend was also married to a Jewish woman named Hania. She was living in our village during the war.

Owing to Hania, who was translating for Germans, no one from our village was sent to Germany.
